When the body is in balance it works optimally
Neuromuscular Trigger Point Therapy
Neuromuscular Trigger Point Therapy addresses the musculoskeletal system and the structural biomechanical balance of the body, which is the relationship between muscles and bones and their proper alignment and movement. When these areas are imbalanced due to:
-
Repetitive injury
-
Trauma
-
Postural distortion
-
Nutritional deficiencies
-
Emotional stress
the body becomes much more susceptible to pain, dysfunction and injury. Trigger points occur when nerves fire impulses at rapid speed to areas of the body often located much further from the actual site of pain. These referral pain patterns cause lack of proper blood flow and muscle contraction which often leads to more pain. When static pressure is applied to the trigger point it inhibits the rapid nerve flow, relaxing the muscle or soft tissue. This allows for the return of proper blood flow, cessation of pain while restoring proper body alignment and movement.

Myofascial Release Technique
Myofascial Release Technique works with the soft tissue and connective tissue of the body. Myo means "muscle" and fascia means "sheet or band" of fibrous connective tissue enveloping, separating or binding together muscles, organs and other soft structures of the body. There are two kinds of fascia:
-
Superficial
-
Deep
When fascia is healthy it is pliable and malleable. It glides smoothly to allow muscles and organs to move or be separated properly. Due to injury or overuse, inflammation develops causing the fascia to become dense, tight, adherent and painful. The fascia can exert a force as much as 2000 pounds per square inch of pressure in the body. This pressure results in postural distortions and biomechanical dysfunction. The massage therapist applies pressure to the fascia that is sustained and slow moving. This allows the fascia to melt and become more flexible, to effectively increase blood flow, increasing the range of motion, restoring postural balance and optimal function.

RockTape®
RockTape® works with the central nervous system and microscopically lifts the skin away from the muscle and fascia, which decompresses the area providing feedback to:
-
reduce pain
-
reduce swelling
-
speed recovery
-
muscle cue and function
-
postural correction
-
reduction of scar tissue
